Your Life Smells of God’s Love

Your Life Smells of God’s Love

I usually walked in gym class. I hadn’t found my love of running. That came later on. In one of my classes there was a friendly cheerleader who walked with me. I remember thinking, “wow she’s really cool”. I don’t remember the conversation at all! I don’t remember what we were talking about — but she did.

Recently, that very same cheerleader reached out to me. Here is what she said:

“I always tell my husband how much of an impact you had on my life for Jesus… crazy what a high school gym class can do… He is and I am too forever grateful.”

Whatever we had talked about pointed her towards Christ and not away from Him. Praise God! This had nothing to do with me! That’s for sure. She later started a personal relationship with Jesus in college and is walking with Him to this day. I still get goose bumps thinking about it.

2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “but thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession — Even while walking laps in a gym class — and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.”

Christian, what an amazing thing! that He gives us a fragrance of His love to share with others. I think the coolest part of this story and what God has really been teaching me is that our faith life matters. Our lives can have an impact for eternal glory. It’s definitely not because of what you or I do, but it’s because of who Christ is. He’s changed us so much that a conversation can have a life changing impact. Your life smells of His love! Praise God.

Be Fragrant today!
